6 Don't Lift That Pencil!

Materials you will need: Paper, pencil, an object(s) or person to draw, a mirror if you wish to draw yourself.

 

Do these days feel like they are all running together? Are options limited? Here’s an activity perfect for our current situation. Place in front of you an object or still life, person, or mirror to draw yourself. Spend a few minutes studying your subject, trying to trace in your mind what it looks like. Then draw that object without lifting your pencil from the paper until you are finished. If this is enough of a challenge as is, your line may cross itself as many times as you like, as long as it is one continuous line. If you want more of a challenge, do the same exercise without ever having your line cross itself. Better yet, try both!
